Jordan's birthday and other generic news!

This is a very "eclectic" entry, and not at all in chronological order! Just a collection of "what's new" here on Guam!

Starting a week out with a rainbow like this is similar to getting a big hug from God! What a blessing to be so often reminded of His goodness to us and that He keeps His promises! We took this picture Sunday morning as we were leaving the house for church.

Twice a month, we at PIBC all get together to pray for each other and for all our students, whether they are on Guam, in Chuuk, Yap, or Palau. Weekend before last we had the meeting at our home in the north part of Guam. Fellowship afterward is always sweet too!

Last week we had a nice surprise - Yosta dropped in on campus on the way home to Chuuk from the Philipines - and many of his former students were so happy to see him! It was good to see him looking well, though tired from his trip. Yosta directs operations at our Tol campus in Chuuk.

Mondays from 3-5 pm our students work hard on cleaning up around campus and inside buildings - here is a shot I just took 15 minutes ago today, Monday, February 9th. It was sunny and bright and the girls were making great progress . . . until a very "Guamish" downpour hit! Right now as I look out my window, the rain is gushing down . . . and our faithful ladies, unabashed, continue to rake and make the place tidy and more beautiful! You ladies are amazing!!!! And we do have a lovely campus!

Chapels are quite packed out nowadays! Here we are crammed into the chapel room, getting ready to hear our guest speaker. On this particular day, it was a missionary pastor from Nepal who is visiting, vacationing, and doing some research and reading on our campus. He gave a great message about being "in the world, but not of the world," about getting "wet" for God, but making sure that though our "boat" should be out in the water, serving the Lord, we should guard against the water getting into our boat!
Thanks, John!

Oh, we do have quite a crowd when we welcome PIBC'ers home! Steve and Anne Stinnette recently returned and we greeted them with songs and hugs! . . . and people at the airport kept saying, "Who are those people?? They must be important!" They are! And we're happy to have them home!

Check the blog out again in a few days for what's going on this spring with Tim and me! Melody

A VIDEO CLIP ESPECIALLY FOR OUR GRANDSON - BUT OTHERS CAN VIEW FOR FUN!

Hey, Jordan! This is just for you! We celebrated your 11th birthday with one BIG candle (since we didn't have any little cake candles) and had brownies and homemade ice cream in honor of your 11th birthday! Hope you had a great day! Love, Oma and Opa (ps - Opa's little "ending" on this was inspired by Kylie, who we know would ask for a rousing rendition of "Chucko the birthday clown!")
