"Eckis-meckis"

A student from the island of Chuuk taught us a phrase when we were on Guam in 2004: "Eckis-meckis." I cannot tell you if I have spelled it correctly, but it's a phrase I have grown to love. It means, "little by little." So often in life, that is how things go. God adds to His church "eckis-meckis," little by little, one soul at a time. God grows us "eckis-meckis." Although the growth may seem invisible to us, others around us encourage us when they tell us how they can see God at work in our lives. And we can encourage one another when we see God using His principle of blessing us even in the "little-by-little" measures He permits. So allow me to share an "eckis-meckis" blessing with you: God is growing our team of supporters "eckis-meckis"- slowly but surely. Every person who comes on board to be a part of our support team is a tremendous encouragement and blessing to both Tim and me. Whether the amount is $25 or $125, we rejoice in seeing how God is putting the pieces together to allow us the privilege of investing our lives in His people in Micronesia. Let us encourage you by sharing that we now have 40% of our needs met for our outgoing/moving expenses and we have 20% of our monthly needs committed. Praise God with us! We pray as you are preparing to celebrate our Savior's advent that you are blessed by "the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenley places." (Eph. 1:3).
