Blessings of the New Year

As a couple, we have been reading in Romans together. God put Romans 11:36 on our hearts in 2005 as our "key verse" for ministry on Guam: "For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things; to Him be the glory forever. Amen." This verse sums up our acknowledgment of Who is in charge of all things in our lives, and that it is God who will put together our ministry "team" of supporters to allow us to serve Him at PIBC, Guam. This morning, as I was meditating on the blessings of this year to come, God put another verse on my heart: "Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!" (Romans 11:33) God's wisdom and knowledge are endless, like a bottomless mine of riches that we cannot wrap our simple human minds around. It is unfathomable that He would be willing to use us in His service in Micronesia. Who are we? Nobody in particular - and that is the beauty of God's unsearchable ways: that He first provided Jesus as our salvation, frail as we are, and that He trusts us simple, fallable humans to carry on the message of salvation to others. We are blessed to see Him at work in our lives even now as we serve Him locally, and are blessed even more to see Him at work in those who are willing to join us in prayer and with financial support. He is building our team! Rejoice and praise God with us: as of December 31, we have 67% of our outgoing needs and about 25% of our monthly needs met! If we can pray for you or encourage you in any way, or if you would like to know more about this ministry, you can email us at: meltim3@juno.com
