We have had a great time thus far on our return to California. One our our first stops was to our first year on theshare about field at Trinity Church's missions class in Redlands, California. We always enjoy our visits to this church where Tim's brother, Paul, and his wife, Marcia, attend. We also enjoyed visiting with Paul and Marcia, as well as with our niece, Charity, and her family.
The next stop on our itinerary was Tim's mother's in the Victorville area - it was so wonderful to have time to visit with her and help her out with a few little projects. Mom will be 84 in September and God has graced her with continued good health, a true blessing! We enjoyed catching up on all the family news, shopping for some much needed items, and just relaxing and resting.
One major highlight of our trip was the arrival of our oldest daughter, Trina, and our grandchildren. It was amazing to see how much they had grown over the course of nearly a year! We are still trying to catch up on all the hugs we missed while we were away! (Of course, if you have seen our previous posting, you know about one of our outings with the kids already. Scroll down for the photos.) Part of our fun was taking Mom to a shopping center she had been wanting to visit. We girls had a great time walking around Victoria Gardens, peeking in all the shops, appreciating the unique architecture for this outdoor mall, and watching little children play in the walk-through sprinkler fountains in the central plaza. Our granddaughter enjoyed trying out some new accessories, too, as you can see. Of course, she thoroughly enjoyed posing for this photo!
Now you have heard all about the "men" part of this posting, "men" being used in the generic, collective sense. But what about the "mice?" Well, we had the privilege of going to the "Mouse House" (AKA: Disneyland) with our grandchildren on their first visit there!
We didn't tell them in advance where they were going. (They thought we were all going on a picnic!) It was a very fun-filled, exciting, enjoyable day. The best part of enjoying Disneyland was seeing it anew through the kids' eyes. It is not a trip they (or we) will soon forget. We are so thankful for this time of making memories with them, our daughters, and our niece and her little one too!
Now that we are done with the "vacation" mode of our trip, we are settling in to our schedule of visiting with individuals, small groups, and our home church about our completion of the first year of ministry at Pacific Islands Bible College. Pray for us that God would raise up additional members to our prayer, encouragement, and financial support teams. Check back soon for further updates.
