Last entry you saw a bit of what we did over summer. However, we didn't just eat and visit with family and friends. We had the joy of sharing the ministry of Liebenzell here at Pacific Islands Bible College many times. Our thanks to Trinity Church in Redlands, Sunriver Church in Rancho Cordova, and Gold Country Baptist Church (our home church) in Shingle Springs, California for their warm hospitality, encouragement, prayers, hugs, smiles, and support. It was such a blessing to get to review how God has been working in and through not only us, but other Liebenzell Missionaries here in Micronesia.
. . . and did I mention that Guam doesn't have a Starbucks (Tim's weakness!) or See's Candy? Yes, Tim's first visit to a Starbucks in Hawaii when we visited my brother was a Kodak moment- as was my visit to the See's Candy store in San Jose when I was visiting my sister!
(Okay, now that's being honest and transparent!)
Neither Tim nor I had ever been to Hawaii - and by God's provision, we were able to stop on our way to the mainland to visit my brother and his wife at their home in Hawaii. It was a great way to keep the jet lag of our trip to a minimum and we saw some very beautiful sights besides having the opportunity to enjoy 5 days with Mark and Nannette, his wife. It was a great break after a very hectic spring. Mark and Nannette were terrific hosts! It wasn't until after we had left Hawaii that I realized I did not have a single photo of us all together . . . but here is everyone except Tim (who was taking the picture) as we said farewell at the Kona airport. If you look closely, you can see Erin and Nannette behind me and my brother! It's actually a kind of cool photograph! :-)
And did I mention that we spent lots of time with our grandkids?Oh, yeah, we had some fun moments! They are quite the tree-climbers - I had to get this shot above by using my zoom lens. In this photo, they are actually about 20 feet up a tree!
Lastly, here are some more shots of special moments with some of the many special folks in our lives, all of them gifts from God.
Armin and Carolyn, who came to Guam while were were in the States, to teach computers.
Long time friends Lisa and Jesse
Jaime and Pastor Phil from our home church.
Michael and Becky, like "family" to us.
"Reflecting" on callings and missions with Carol and Jim! :-)
Brad and Tippy, no one understands our love
of Hong Kong Inn like you two do! Thanks!
Hey, to all of you who met us at Baskin Robbins right before we left, thanks for making our farewell such a joyous event! (. . . and the ice cream was an added bonus!)
Cliff and Sue, the Starbucks night was super! When can we treat you to coffee? On Guam? (It'll have to be Winchell's coffee - remember? No Starbucks here!)
How did we get so blessed to have so many wonderful, praying friends and family members? I had planned on 2 chapters for the summer in "review," but I am thinking I'll need one more! Check back in a week for more . . . and hopefully some news on the start of the semester at PIBC. Thanks, all of you, for your prayers and partnership in sharing the love of Jesus with young Micronesians. We among all people are uniquely blessed to have such a "family" of God!

What a wonderful recap of your summer. We were so blessed by your encouragement and prayer for our trip. We are torn between there and here. Our prayer are with you. (How about Starbucks in a bag?)
