What have we been up to?

The few of you who have checked our blog these past couple of months might wonder what we've been up to! Well, a couple of family weddings now are over in California - and with that statement, you know a lot! We are rejoicing in God's goodness in allowing and providing for us to be here for our nephew, Jamie's wedding in August (seen here at the left) . . .

. . . and the fun that meant of being with family, seeing little "grand-nephews and grand-nieces" as well as Tim's brothers, sisters in law, and his Mom.
Aren't they cute???
(the babies)

It was so nice for Mom to have all four of her boys together - so we took advantage of the moment to get a rare photograph of them all together. (see below left)

We also enjoyed strolling around Solvang the next day and indulging in some abelskivers (round Swedish pancakes covered in raspberry jam and sprinkled with powdered sugar).

A few weeks later we spent some time with Mom and celebrated her 86th birthday a bit early with her (below left), after which we returned to northern California to begin preparations for our daughter, Erin's wedding.

Before the wedding, of course, there is all of the preparation . . . and the bridal showers. Erin was blessed with two wonderful bridal showers and was also showered with lots of great gift items to help her and her sweetie, Rob, set up housekeeping.

Here (right) she models an apron from her Aunt Robyn, with our dear friend, Jeanne at the left (who hostessed the shower) and me at the right.

A couple weeks later, we had a shower given by our dear friend, Becky. We are so blessed to have such great friends and family to support and encourage us - and these showers provided lots of support and encouragement! So THANK YOU, Jeanne, Becky, and all those who attended! You were all a huge blessing to us.

(This photo at the left is from the shower at Becky's. That is Neva, Erin's new "mom-in-law" at the left and me at the right, with Erin in between.)

The weeks have flown - with all of the baking and preparation done, last Sunday, Erin and Rob were married.

Many of you have already seen photos on Facebook - here is a great shot of their first kiss - and then another of them doing a waltz at the reception. We are blessed to have a new "son" and blessed to consider his family as a part of our family too! Thanks to all who made it such a special day!!!

That's all from California for now! We are taking about 6 days to relax with my sister, brother, cousin and all their spouses and then will return to spend a bit more time with our daughters and their families before we return to Guam. I'll hope to post more news as our time in the States comes to a close. (Photo below: Melody and Tim at Rob and Erin's reception with granddaughter/flower girl, Kylie.)

Mom,

I really enjoyed your recap of your time in California. And I agree that the "First Kiss" picture is really great. Just thought I would leave a note and let you know that our blog is up, though we haven't been on there much. Love you, Rob (and Erin)
